SOURCE :    http://www.boston.com

On the morning of February 11, 2011, the international jury of the 54th World Press Photo Contest named a photo by South African photographer Jodi Bieber, World Press Photo of the Year 2010. The image is a portrait of Bibi Aisha, disfigured as punishment for fleeing her husband's house, taken in Kabul, Afghanistan. Over 5,691 photographers entered 108,059 images in the 2011 World Press Photo Contest and after the two-week judging period, 56 were named winners in nine categories. It is a prestigious contest and an honor to be named a winner. The following post shares 23 of those winning images. For more on the contest, including a time-lapse video of the jury room being set up, to hear the jury chairs discuss the images that were named winners, and to learn more about the competition, World Press Photo -- Paula Nelson

Bibi Aisha, an 18-year-old woman from Oruzgan province in Afghanistan, fled back to her family home from her husband's house, complaining of violent treatment. The Taliban arrived one night, demanding Bibi be handed over to face justice. After a Taliban commander pronounced his verdict, Bibi's brother-in-law held her down and her husband sliced off her ears and then cut off her nose. Bibi was abandoned, but later rescued by aid workers and the U.S. military. After time in a women's refuge in Kabul, she was taken to America, where she received counseling and reconstructive surgery. Bibi Aisha now lives in the United States. Car Review : HONDA - CRV 2011

 Source :  www.bigpicture.ru
Honda CR-V is one of my favorite car. I have just seen one of the CR-V 2011 fleets, it's of  my colleage.

DSC 7619 Overview of Honda CR V
1. Of course, the particular brutality I did not expect, but the car is a bit glamorous. Lines and shapes closer in style to the class of cars or minivans. The arcuate line of windows visually pulls and "down to earth" the car. Grille, made in an unusual manner for Honda, looks fresh. Only here the lower part of it is very similar to the good-natured smile, and solidity it does not add to the car. Perhaps, the car would look elegant with a lattice of classical shapes ...

DSC 7621 Overview of Honda CR V
2. Whatever it was, the evaluation of appearance has always been subjective, but the fact that the Honda CR-V is not faceless, and stands out from the stream - that's a fact. We have to think, that this goal pursued Japanese designers in the development of a new image for the family CR-V, and they definitely succeeded. However, restalingovaya model looks quite different from the Honda CR-V third generation, sales of which started back in 2007, that is, the new exterior can not be named, although it looks like it is still quite good.

DSC 7632 Overview of Honda CR V
3. As for planting in the car, personally I did not raise complaints. However, there is a suspicion that the undersized drivers and passengers would not be very comfortable as the bottom line because of the wide doorways threshold is a fair distance from the ground. The driver's seat is not difficult to adjust to yourself - it can be adjusted in 8 directions. That is, this option is only available exclusively to owners of Honda CR-V with the 2.4 engine in the maximum configuration Executive, all other trim levels will have to manually adjust the seat.

4. Next - ergonomics of the driver. Here feeling good - like the dashboard, everything is in place, there is no excess, and looks modern. Steering wheel with controls onboard systems - a decision which has become a classic, so deep in his description I will not, no complaints here, everything is traditional and predictable. The center console looks stylish layout does not cause rejection, however, in my opinion, the "big red button" turned out too big and makes a certain dissonance. Automatic transmission lever imposed on the center console, which is a typical solution for Honda cars, but a bit unusual for many motorists. Another prerogative of picking Executive, electric sliding roof, take advantage of me and could not - the weather was unsuitable.

DSC 7648 Overview of Honda CR V
5. Light colors, which is maintained cabin interior Honda CR-V, make the car visually more spacious. Sit back not as comfortable as the front, but quite comfortable. However, when traveling long distances I would prefer to take a seat on one of the front seats, rear passenger than to be "couch". Regarding the free space in the boot - nothing special Japanese competitors are not opposed - 442 liters, or 955, if you add up the back seat. In a class of crossovers have the results and is more serious. Incidentally, the back rest can be folded partially 60:40.

DSC 7657 Overview of Honda CR V
6. By way of claims for the operation was not found - the car behaves well in the corners, do not bite when braking and collapses into a deep roll with a sharp permutation. In this koldoboiny and ruts are not noticed - the suspension settings turned out successful. A little confused steering wheel - not enough information. More accurately be described as the lack of - and for both low and high speeds, it is equally easy to turn. By this I quickly got used to, but still ...

DSC 7659 Overview of Honda CR V
7. Dynamics in Honda CR-V is very decent, and the engine traction and neprozhorliv. Up to hundreds of car can accelerate in less than 13 seconds. Average fuel consumption for the test was about 13 liters per 100 km. The vehicle was operated in an urban environment with all elements in particular, ubiquitous stoppers.

DSC 7660 Overview of Honda CR V
8. I must say that the quality of off-road Honda CR-V I check failed - so measured the few deep puddles, climbed to a couple of curbs and everything.

DSC 7663 Overview of Honda CR V
9. But the car and not inspired confidence in a serious obstruction. In fairness, it should be noted that in the class of crossovers such dignity can boast quite a few.

DSC 7665 Overview of Honda CR V
10. Honda CR-V is a great choice for city driving, both in summer and winter, easily overcomes the snow in the yard or unpeeled road. But more should not count, despite the grandiose name-wheel drive system - REAL 4WD. Especially as permanent drive - front axle, and when you connect the rear wheels independently determines the transmission. And usually with the help of the rear axle hopelessly late - the car has time to bury the front wheels.

DSC 7667 Overview of Honda CR V
11. In general, by clearance, Honda CR-V wagon-road rather than off-road. For confident driving in vnedorozhya 1850 mm, the manufacturer, is too small. However, Japanese and do not position this crossover, as the conqueror of off-road.

DSC 7672 Overview of Honda CR V
12. Honda CR-V - Universal car for the city, a good choice as a family car. However, if we happen to leave and asphalt, it would be better for such a crossover than some squat sedan.

DSC 7673 Overview of Honda CR V
13. Overall, the car turned out quite good, although less practical than the Honda CR-V 2nd generation. The classic square-rectangular design was replaced by the now trendy "licked" lines, dimensions, unfortunately, have decreased. Meanwhile, due to the high level of security, rich functionality and comfort, the car is in high demand, even though a considerable cost.

DSC 7688 Overview of Honda CR V
14. Comfortable Recreational Vehicle - a comfortable car for enjoying the outdoors, this is how the name stands for CR-V. Well, the classification is quite controversial, both for urban crossover. What is this machine to rest, could not figure out, but for everyday use in a metropolis features Honda CR-V abound - check.
